Vauxhall Corsa VXR Blue Edition 2011

The Corsa VXR Blue Limited Edition features new styling details, additional kit as standard and a head-turning paintjob. At £19,425 (including 20% VAT), this limited edition model features Arden Blue metallic paint, 18-inch alloys, dark-tinted glass, bespoke interior air vents and Recaro seats – that equates to a £445 saving compared with the cost of speccing a ’standard’ Corsa VXR with this kit.
Powered by the lightweight 1.6 Turbo, producing 192PS, this VXR boasts a 0-60mph time of just 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 140mph. An overboost feature increases maximum torque to 260+Nm when the power is needed.

Like other models in the new-look Corsa range, the VXR and VXR Blue sport new ‘Eagle-Eye’ headlamps and a signature bar across the grille, coloured in blue. But in addition, the VXR gets a more aggressive front end, with deep in-set fog lamps, a wider and more prominent grille and a low, sculpted front spoiler to boost its sporting appeal. Inside, blue detailing can be found throughout, including the stitching on the leather steering-wheel, the interior air-vent colour and the trim on the Recaro seats.

The Corsa VXR Blue comes with lowered sports suspension, uprated brakes and switchable Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), guaranteeing enthusiastic drivers a fine mix of dynamic security and adjustability.

Available to order now, the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Blue Edition will hit dealers late February.

Vauxhall Astra Police Car 2010 Gallery

To provide the UK’s Police constabularies a vehicle with much improved integration with the systems law enforcement demands, Vauxhall has released the new Vauxhall Astra. The new Astra is ready to enter Police service with higher level of integration with emergency service systems than its predecessor.
Since its first launch in 1979, the Astra has been the backbone of beat policing across the 54 UK Police forces. Approximately one in five of all ‘panda’ cars in use across the UK are Astras with many of them equipped by Vauxhall’s turn-key Police preparation facility and Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
To ensure the dependability and reliability demanded of a law enforcement vehicle, the new Vauxhall Astra has been tested through several test programs. The physical rig testing, for example, was used to replicate a lifetime of structural inputs into the vehicle, which in addition to other physical tests and computer simulations.
To increase capacity for fitting further emergency service equipment, the new Astra also features mobile data terminals, video capture and multiple transceivers. The typical range of emergency services lighting options are also available including a range of LED lightbars, headlamp flash, grille lights, bumper interceptor lights and rear reds.

From launch, the new Vauxhall Astra will be available with an instrument console incorporating integrated switch panels configured for Police radio header units such as the Cleartone, Motorola, Sepura and Icom.

Vauxhall Meriva FlexDoor 2010 Gallery

The compact MPV class Vauxhall Meriva FlexDoor comes with new technology that improves the convenience of the car, supported also by the FlexRail and FlexSpace systems. The Vauxhall Meriva FlexDoor will receives its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The Meriva FlexRail system provides convenient and adaptable storage for a wide range of everyday items, from handbags and colouring books to iPods and sunglasses. Space for the FlexRail between the front seats has been liberated by raising the gearshift location and replacing the traditional handbrake with an easy to use electric park brake button. The result is an uninterrupted storage zone that extends rearward from the base of the centre stack and is accessible from the rear seats.
The Meriva FlexSpace system offers a range of cabin configurations without having to remove any seats, and is now improved with a one-step action when sliding the rear seat cushions or when lowering the rear seatbacks. Rear seatbacks up, the Meriva’s boot has a 400-litre capacity, increasing to 920-litres with the seatbacks folded. But use all the space up to the roof and an impressive 1500-litres capacity is available.
